A person sits on the edge of a large rock cliff overlooking a vast mountain landscape at sunrise or sunset, with soft light and long shadows stretching across the scene.

Poetry and Ponderings by Shelly

Reach Back

Remember where thou hast been In despair blown by strong winds And when the storm does clear Reach back for others, dear. When journeying onward still Be mindful all around Keep eyes and hearts so keen Reach back for others…

A close-up of a weathered blue padlock securing a rusty latch on an old wooden door. The wood appears aged and worn, and there is a light dusting of frost on the lock and latch.

Arrested

I remember vividly the Holy Spirit lovingly convicting me of an unknown sin. Honestly, it was something I thought clearly right at the time. Yet the Lord began to show me the deep damage I had caused. It seemed very…

A person stands barefoot in a spotlight on a dark floor, poised to throw a rope that coils at their feet. Only their legs, feet, and hands are visible; the rest of their body fades into the darkness.

Poetry and Ponderings by Shelly

Throw a Rope

Oh if we could see the imprisoned hearts around us… there are days where weariness withholds my own vision. It’s not that Christ isn’t trying to show them to me…it’s merely that I refuse to see. I may be overwhelmed…

A person with long, wavy hair stands by a lake, facing away from the camera in a maroon sweater, raising both arms above their head amidst a green, forested background, as if to say, "Don't Rush Me.

Poetry and Ponderings by Shelly

Don’t Rush Me

My favorite place to worship is at the altar…The Lord tends to beckon me there should one be available. Of course, we can create an altar anywhere and I have by faith done so in my closet, in the midst…

Frost-covered plants in the foreground with blurred buildings in the snowy background, creating a cold, wintry scene.

Love…

Love is an unexpected gift Of time with a long lost friend Love is softened stains As one wipes the tears and tends. Love is a gentle squeeze When your strength is all but gone Love it perseveres To ensure…

A woman with long, wavy hair in a white dress stands barefoot in a grassy field, holding her dress out at the sides as if to say, "Won't You Run?" Tall trees and an overcast sky fill the background.

Poetry and Ponderings by Shelly

Won’t You Run

I was driving when this song began stirring in my heart. In the next morning, the Lord finished it and I have fallen in love with His melody and heart in it. We soon will bring it together for others…

A wet, empty road stretches toward mountains under a dramatic, cloud-filled sky, with yellow roadside markers and distant peaks partly lit by sunlight.

Poetry and Ponderings by Shelly

Haste

There is the reading of the scripture That leaves still no effect Perhaps but a mere habit We need Rema..God’s “NOW” breath. A shouting of yes’s and agreed with “amen!” Yet never realizing the death deep within. When stories recounted…

Dry Bones

Do dry bones know when their dry? For they are now void of life Hearing is dull and scarce Vision has gone and left. For only when Christ wakens these And the Holy Spirit pervades the dead leaves Will breath…

Dew-covered spider webs hang between thin, bare branches, with the sun rising in a foggy, muted background. The droplets glisten softly in the low light, creating a delicate and tranquil atmosphere.

Poetry and Ponderings by Shelly

Bigotry

There is a deep deep problem in the Kingdom Unseen by the natural eye But a hardness of heart of God’s people For others who are different than thine. Where hatred may not be so evident Yet a prejudice so…

A dry, curled brown leaf lies on a concrete surface in sharp focus, with a blurred background of muted colors and indistinct shapes, evoking the quiet aftermath of heartbreak in an urban street scene.

Poetry and Ponderings by Shelly

When Love Fails

When love fails the heart is hope deferred A repetitious cycle of lost-ness occurs When one pours out yet comes up short You may have to release all to the Lord. One can grow weary of waiting a heart To…

Shelly Wilson is a poet, psalmist, and messenger passionate about releasing a word in season to weary hearts.  Shelly is a champion for those who have lost their voice and she mentors many to become rooted in Christ in a way that raises them as modern day warriors. She is honored to birth out others with Christ-size dreams and is particularly fond of spotting the gifts in women and girls.  Her favorite thing to teach is how to hear God’s voice and cultivate awareness of His presence in every day life.  She loves to speak on how the scriptures are living and breathing by giving examples through creation testifying, Holy Spirit communion, or His language through prophetic eyes. She will often nudge others to take hold of child-like faith and wonder again.
