Wooden cross on hill at sunset

Poetry and Ponderings by Shelly

It’s a Long Walk to the Cross…

It’s a long walk to the cross So close thine eyes and breathe Now gently bow thy head And slowly bow thy knees. For Christ in the garden did plead Father take this cup from Me Yet, Thy will, not…

A person stands with arms outstretched facing a large waterfall, mist swirling as two vivid rainbows arc across the scene. Rocky cliffs and sunlight frame the background, evoking the art of letting go and emotional healing amidst nature's beauty.

The Art of Letting Go

I heard this little title early this am but I didn’t really get the poem until later today. I certainly felt it in my heart as soon as it came. It kind of came with a surge of familiar anguish….

A close-up of a colt's brown face in a grassy field under a blue sky with scattered clouds. The colt's nose appears large due to the camera angle. Trees line the horizon in the background.

Poetry and Ponderings by Shelly

Loose the Colt…

And it came to pass, when he was come nigh to Bethphage and Bethany, at the mount called the mount of Olives, he sent two of his disciples,  Saying, Go ye into the village over against you; in the which…

A lamb stands in tall grass. Overlaid text says: Anytime a lion or a bear carries off a lamb, I GO AFTER IT, ATTACK IT, and RESCUE the lamb... 1 Samuel 17:34. The image powerfully captures protection and courage. ShellyWilson.com is on the right side.

Poetry and Ponderings by Shelly

There are some days…

I find the life with Jesus so beautiful yet the reality of hardships and afflictions are nigh. I have encountered extreme joy and adventure, while also suffering great losses.  I am sure many reading today are in some sort of…

The sun rises over distant mountains, casting warm golden light and rays across a layer of clouds and the rugged dark silhouette of the peaks below.

Poetry and Ponderings by Shelly

Love…

Love is patient Love is kind Love is faithful Love is time Love is wreckless Love is long Love it suffers Many wrongs. Love is active Love is near Love encourages Love never fears Love is freedom Love is flight…

A soldier in camouflage uniform stands on a military structure, looking toward a dense cloud of dust—his stance resolute, as if silently asking, "Is There Not A Cause?" amidst the swirling, obscuring particles.

Poetry and Ponderings by Shelly

Is There Not A Cause?

Is there not a cause to fight Is there not a cause to love Is there not a cause to grieve The lost and lonely Christ speaks of… Is there not a cause to dance Is there not a cause…

Sunlight streams across a vast expanse of fluffy clouds as seen from above, creating a serene and golden sky—like The Gate to a peaceful realm, where every ray tells a story of the heart in soft light and gentle cloud textures.

The Gate…a story of the heart

Please give me grace this am and think not too critical of my writing today:) It’s just a little story of my heart. I am sure much theologically could be inaccurate..likely this story would be filed under “fiction” in the…

A bride with curled hair and a jeweled headband looks down, her face partially visible, in soft natural light. The background is blurred, showing outdoor foliage and pavement.

Cinderella

…and with this I fall head over heels again……………………..:) A sweet message for the women at church today that God is a restorer of the little girls who are now big girls. Keep dreaming with Him and rejoice in Him….enjoy…

A large wooden cross stands atop a snow-covered hill at sunrise or sunset, inviting heart pondering as mountains loom in the background and dramatic clouds fill the sky.

Poetry and Ponderings by Shelly

a heart pondering…

I sat in a meeting and looked around the room….I often ponder subtle things as God shows me His heart…. and inside I smiled. Whoever expected a ministry meeting to include 2 of the staff holding little babes recently born…

A green plant in focus thrives amid rain, with droplets falling around it, symbolizing growth against a blurred backdrop of wooden fences and thatched-roof structures.

Nothin grows without a little rain…

Shelly Wilson is a poet, psalmist, and messenger passionate about releasing a word in season to weary hearts.  Shelly is a champion for those who have lost their voice and she mentors many to become rooted in Christ in a way that raises them as modern day warriors. She is honored to birth out others with Christ-size dreams and is particularly fond of spotting the gifts in women and girls.  Her favorite thing to teach is how to hear God’s voice and cultivate awareness of His presence in every day life.  She loves to speak on how the scriptures are living and breathing by giving examples through creation testifying, Holy Spirit communion, or His language through prophetic eyes. She will often nudge others to take hold of child-like faith and wonder again.
