There are definitely consequences to our decisions, our lack of obedience, and even our apathy. It can cost us our own destiny. God doesn’t force us to do one thing. Often, we willingly give it up.
How can we lead others well when we aren’t willing to pay the price? When we choose comfort over sacrifice. Shadiness over integrity. Deception over holiness.
If you want to be a leader in the Kingdom please understand something. You’ll be held to a higher standard with Christ. Lead carefully…in the fear of the Lord.
Learn to be above reproach in all things. Little things, I often say, are big things to God.
People need faithful leaders they can count on. Those who have their best interests at heart. Those willing to fight on the frontlines, defend the land when necessary, and those who will plow in prayer the enemy territory.
I’m in the middle of a great book that says this, “Joshua did not become a person of integrity after his appointment as leader. His integrity preceded and led to his assignment.”
It is so true. I’ve watched many people of God and ministries over the years implode due to a lack of character and integrity.
God will never put His stamp of approval on such a thing.
Why would I follow thee, dear friend,
Into a battle’s fight
If you refuse to take your post
For the cause of Christ.
For if indeed you’re trustworthy
Then let us stand at once
Laying down the will of man
To follow now His voice.
Many talk of great exploits
Yet few do enter in
Faithfulness comes before
God does choose His men.
A leader maybe born and called
But time does cultivate
Character and integrity
That soon secures your place.
Joshua, the son of Nun,
Did follow Moses’ lead
But learned he did a hard lesson
To obey God in all things.
Deu 34:4 – Then the LORD said to him, “This is the land which I swore to Abraham,Isaac, and Jacob, saying, ‘I will give it to your descendants’; I have let you see it with your eyes, but you shall not go over there.”
