In prayer this morning I heard the words, “Some are building their own kingdoms.”
It is no problem to prosper in Christ Jesus as long as His desires remain at the forefront. It is when every ounce of focus is on what we want and need that He begins to deeply stir.
He is a jealous God, and His fighting for us can get, well, intense.
Sometimes He will give us what we thought we wanted, or at least what we have offered to sacrifice to, to show us the error of our ways.
When Christ and His heart’s desire has become overrun by personal glories, personal wants, and personal treasures, we will find ourselves in a place He never desired for us.
It is a terrible thing to be given over to our own kingdoms because we have forsaken His.
Building our own kingdoms robs God of time, love, kingdom provisions, and hearts in need of Him.
It is not a trivial thing but a serious matter.
It is wise to take an inventory of our lives and say, “Have I been caring for Christ and His Kingdom, or have I been caring only for my own.”
“For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.” (Luke 12:34)
