I find an interesting pondering
Looking throughout the years
The strongest and meekest of Christian
Can rise with devastating austere.
Admired and gifted from Heaven
With destiny and favor and more
Can be strong in the eyes of humans
Yet turn weak in the eyes of the Lord.
For as Saul with David in a moment
Changed forever the life of the King
For it could have been so very different
Yet Saul swore to kill from jealousy.
A life cost a life cost a country
A heritage forever changed
Loss by way of procurement
Now heard when the Psalmist would play.
Overtaken by darkened spirits
This friend would come and play
Anointed David poured love in
And demons would flee far away
You’d think at a point Saul would bow down
With repentance that caused him to cry
Instead his life was devoted
To kill a man once loved, now despised.

Saul Envies David
