When Love Left

Remember…..

When once thine eyes were full

Of faith and great delight

When love deep in your heart

Brought others to The Christ.

When faith it filled your lungs

And joy was fresh and full

Think of those dear days

When love was sweet that ruled.

There’s been in now the Church

A knowledge exalted high

A reasoning of the Word

Not learning of true life.

But love resides not here

Now others empty fed

No breath inside dry bones

Yet, Christ will come dear man.

He’ll recompense the wrongs

Where others tried to warn

Of teachings falsely taught

Causing hearts so torn.

A doctrine of intellect

A reasoning of mere man

A removing of His grace

No Spirit at work it says.

Nothing more than false

Leading many astray

Be careful listening ears

Lest you be led away.

It seems to be in line

Yet twisted it is just so

Back to familiar roots

Embracing laws once told.

A reading now that turns

Bondage back to chains

Resist this teaching well

It brings a deathly maze.

Hold fast now to the truth

Of simple childlike faith

You need not be astute

A fisherman is all it takes.

Tis’ Christ who sends the call

Tis’ He who makes His claim

His Spirit still does send

The spiritual gifts today.

Soon a darkness falls

By teachings all from Hell

For do not dare embrace

A doctrine of love expelled.
