When Love Fails

When love fails the heart is hope deferred

A repetitious cycle of lost-ness occurs

When one pours out yet comes up short

You may have to release all to the Lord.

One can grow weary of waiting a heart

To turn to compassion embrace the Shepherd’s rod

And if not so careful thy own heart grows cold

Resist such a hardness that tries to grab hold.

Gentle is our Father and He wants us too

To pour out His Spirit to others for blooms.

And if love has fallen and failed with high price

Love fails not with the perfect love of Christ.
