When God Pushes Pause

When God Pushes Pause

When God Pushes Pause

As I entered into some unexpected moments this past month it carried a spiritual weight of something I’ve yet to see unfold.

It has felt as if God pushed pause.

A quiet “slowing of my roll” with an almost daily sent word to “Be still and know…”

Mornings have been longer in lingering. Prayers more surrendered. An uneasy, yet expectant, waiting.

Something has changed.

Something has shifted.

Something has finished.

Something has begun.

With any pause comes tension.

Often, frustration.

Every race horse wants to run.

But there is a holy holding of the reins.

You’ll fight against it at first. Pushing and pulling in a divine wrestling with God.

Be careful, Jacob, or you’ll walk away with a limp. It’s a holy move. The Master is maneuvering, positioning, and placing things in a right, and sometimes new, alignment.

You’ll feel as if everything has “stilled.”

Your dreams and visions have stilled.

Your energy has stilled.

Your environment has stilled.

You’ll even feel as if God has stilled.

But it is more of the opposite.

You’re still while He is not.

You’ll have to surrender to the stillness and wait upon the Lord.

He is untangling some things.

Untethering some things.

Rerouting some things.

Prying you carefully out of any traps of the enemy.

Repositioning your purview.

But be sure that the moment is coming where the gun goes off again and Heaven opens your gate.

And you’ll run with the WIND.

Empowered.

Refreshed.

Strengthened.

And ready.

So if you feel like God has pushed pause, don’t fight it…. Use it.

Use it to lean into His heart.

Use it to rest.

Use it to feed yourself the Word.

Use it to worship.

Use it to recover from past seasons.

And soon, very soon, that “be still and know that He is God” command will have positioned you quietly into a place you have never been before.

You might find yourself looking up, slowly, to a brand new, lush, landscape.

Isaiah 42:16

“I will lead those who are blind by a way they have not known, In paths they have not known I will guide them. I will turn darkness into light before them And uneven land into plains. These are the things I will do, And I will not leave them undone.”

Isaiah 43: 19

Behold, I am doing a new thing;

now it springs forth, do you not perceive it?

I will make a way in the wilderness

    and rivers in the desert.
