Psalm 107
23 They that go down to the sea in ships, that do business in great waters;24 These see the works of the Lord, and his wonders in the deep.
“The Water’s Edge”
What does one see beyond the plain
When once you stand from land’s terrain
On water’s edge with no more step
Now comes the time for counsel yet.
For far and wide is water deep
Shallow first but gradually
Soon you’ll feel no longer sand
And Christ must be your anchor man.
When waves roll in upon thy head
Learn to float within His hand
A boat He makes with tender palms
A Father always, once, and for all.
When sweeping wind’s cause billows swell
He will gently lift thy head
Careful not to let you drowned
Trust you must His loving sound.
Deep one goes for business strong
Great and Mighty Christ not calls
But weakened child He casts a float
For you’re the one He chose to go.
The shore must be behind one’s heart
The edge is where you’ll have to start
It’s where a crises of faith occurs
It’s either the beginning or end for some.
Yet if you hear and trust His call
And choose to step to deepened walks
Wonders soon will become seen
The waters edge will taketh thee.
But if you choose familiar lands
And dare not step to freedoms span
Where borders disappear from site
You may not see Thy promised life.
