The Sunflower

The Sunflower

The Sunflower

Did you know the sunflower bows its head

Until the morning light

For it awakes with the sun

At every morning sunrise

Its face is full like a mirror hung

Mimicking the bright sky’s sun

For this was purposed by The Christ

The sunflower points to the Son.

Its face it follows in perfect step

The moving of the light

From side to side it keeps its eye

Focused in perfect sight

Scientists try to explain and explain

The reason it acts in such ways

But me and Jesus know perfectly well

He made the sunflowers this way.

For all of creation testifies

Of Christ and Kingdom shades

And did you know from east to west

The sunflower bends to warm rays

And even when placed in the dark

They still are looking for the sun

For they know well the Father’s heart

And never will they run.

It’s said that when the sunflowers get old

They cease to circle the same

But bees they come to pollinate A

And scatter the pollen for days

The thing that mostly blows my mind

Is mature sunflowers face east

So in my heart I can’t help wonder

If she’s watching for the coming King.
