This phrase (rhythm is grace) is mentioned in the Message translation which is more of a paraphrased version, yet, can be lovely in wording as an additional reference.
I’ve been trying to “get into a groove” or rhythm of grace as seasons have shifted here at the ministry.
God has been sending more hearts in need of deliverance and healing and He seems to be sending me out into new fields more to minister to hearts in need.
I’m trying to find His rhythm of grace.
It’s that place where the yoke is easy and the burden is light. It’s requiring my body to rest more than I’d like.
It’s like operating within a new blueprint and set of plans. Being sure our meetings continue to run smoothly and our gatherings are secure. Yet, I’ve felt inadequate lately at it all.
It’s like finding a new balance and trying to stick with it. A new set of boundaries He is putting in place for a new season.
In the middle of this transition it feels like everything is “off.”
I’m administratively wired also so I need organization to function effectively otherwise things and people get missed.
I’ve messed up now too many times to count on God’s directives and healthy boundaries. I haven’t meant to but I’m wading through some changing waters.
He is full of grace, thankfully.
I’m learning change must happen to grow. New rhythms have to come when He says, “Go.” Old patterns must shift to accommodate new ones and finding that sweet rhythm of grace is critical for longevity.
This race of ours is no sprint but I’ve sure ran it as such at times. It usually ends up with me faltering before I should. A spirit of endurance is what we need here in this adventure with Jesus.
Finding that rhythm helps me stay in step with the spirit, pour out what is needed, and keep my outward man in the game.
Maybe you’re struggling with this too.
God is a beautiful director of our days. He knows the rhythm and pace for any given season.
Every season shifts that rhythm and we must be willing to shift with Him.
So ask Him to show you His rhythm of grace for your current season. He knows where the perfect balance is. Then follow His plan exactly.
“Are you tired? Worn out? Burned out on religion? Come to me. Get away with me and you’ll recover your life. I’ll show you how to take a real rest. Walk with me and work with me—watch how I do it. Learn the unforced rhythms of grace. I won’t lay anything heavy or ill-fitting on you. Keep company with me and you’ll learn to live freely and lightly.”
