There are times when God walks you right back to the place of pain.
You’ve likely run from it trying hard to get away from it.
You’ve turned your face from it, avoided it, and you just haven’t been able to look at it.
But in the heart of God is a desire for healing and freedom from it.
The God of freedom knows that you are still bound by it. You’ve yet to get victory over it. So He institutes a plan to position you in such a way that you will have to face it.
Pain brings with it things like memories, triggers, and emotions.
Until now you’ve acted like none of that is still there. But God knows different. So He is about to turn you to it instead of from it.
Pain can take a soul and make it a captive. Until we heal, we stay on a merry-go-round doing the same things the same ways. In that we will get the same results. No victory.
But when we face the pains with Christ, He can heal those places of breakage.
When God knows we have a fear He wants to settle the matter. Show us that we can trust Him. Help us understand that there is never a moment that He cannot handle. No place of pain takes away His plan and purpose and there is always an expected end with Him. He still has the final word. The devil cannot defeat you when God is your keeper.
Some of those places of fear include people. Their faces trigger a pain in you and you haven’t been able to win the battle just yet. So you’ve stayed clear of any environment of confrontation.
But you’ll notice that when God knows you’re ready He begins to place you in position to see those faces and show you that Satan can no longer lord it over you. So instead of hiding, you’ll be not afraid to step your foot into any territory with that anxious thought any longer.
When a place of pain is a location that has memories of good things that are now lost, you’ll likely run from that place. But eventually you’ll find God will often bring you back to that place of grief so you can begin to heal with Him.
The royal priest of His may be wrought with power and authority but Jesus is quite tender still with your dear heart. It’s important to Him that the wounds are gently bound. He knows fully we are merely human beings and pain is hard for us.
There is no set timeline for healing. So toss that idea out the window. God will never rush the healing process. However, we can, in and of ourselves, delay the healing if we do not let God do what He needs to do in that very place of pain.
