To everything, there is a season and a time to every purpose under the heaven… (Ecclesiastes 3:1)
I watched a little dandelion
Float upon the wind
It was quite a long time
Till its flight did end.
Similar is the breath of God
That calls a Saint to Him
Like a little dandelion
Blown upon the wind.
I’d wonder if troubles ever come
As the weed does fly
Maybe it is awfully safe
And never has to cry.
But then I see it stops at once
Grabbed by thorn-like knives
Now it fights for its life
Through the day and night.
The storm it comes and lightning strikes
The rain is steamy hot
The brave ole’ little dandelion
Holds on with all its heart.
But soon The Christ gives a good blow
A new refreshing wind
And just as He has perfect time
He rescues His little friend.
Perhaps you, too, feel ensnared
Like that dandelion
Maybe you are losing hope
And think you’re out of time
May you hear this parable
That causes faith to rise
In all of life’s ups and downs
Jesus hears your cry
Hang on tight throughout your storm
Set your mind on Thee
For soon is coming a powerful wind
That sets you, friend, too free.

Often we feel like we are in a storm, unseen. But this is never true. The Holy Spirit is always comforting, always listening, always hovering.
There have been times that I wondered if I’d make it through an unexpected snag, then just in the nick of time Christ opens a door for my rescue.
Over my years, He has often taught me through flowers. Did you know that all of God’s creation testifies of Him? Meaning, I love to study characteristics and behaviors of certain flowers. You should really try it! It is so lovely to learn of Christ through His very own creation.
The dandelion is one of my favorites. With one little blow, you can see dandelions fly away. Did you know they can travel miles and re-seed growing entire fields? Look what one little blow can do for a dandelion! It’s no different for us with Christ. One blow of His Spirit can change EVERYTHING!
So if you are struggling or caught in some sort of painful season, remember the parable about the dandelion. Everything has a time, or season, under the sun.
Your time is coming!
