Some time ago the Lord started stirring another DQK Club. It began in the Grounds for Justice Ministry Center in Tyler Texas (operated by and benefitting Refuge of Light, a ministry restoring girls from the effects of child sex trafficking at a beautiful Refuge home for minor girls) as we were working with girls from an emergency shelter each week. Soon God placed a precious man with a heart like His named Charles Seawright to gently nudge the ROL staff, and myself, to dream bigger of converting a warehouse to a studio for girls. I have to admit…I was hesitant. That was a rigorous season in my previous DQK Studio personally so in many ways I drug my feet….yet God kept moving forward. It seems nothing would stop His heart this time.

Along the way the Lord called me to “pass the mantle” of DQK to the ministry of Refuge of Light so I could begin to focus on the ministry God has called me to in this season with music, poetic writings, and sharing the messages He put in my heart. Soon He enlisted Dexter Jordan with Smith Baptist Builders and his team of the most beautiful volunteer men I have ever seen…and the floodgates opened as I saw donations come in to resurrect a studio for at risk girls under the umbrella of Refuge of Light. They not only supplied the labor but found the donations needed to complete the building. It has been amazing..God continued to show His hand and heart to set the captives free.

Months later …today…we sat with girls needing a safe place and watched them fall in love with the new studio…and the DQK Studio once again reopened brand new…. Soon this weekly DQK outreach will be offered to girls all over East Texas in addition to the girls we work with in an emergency shelter…and registration will be open for others needing to hear more about Christ and His love for them. They will once again be encouraged to take their place in the Kingdom by a Refuge of Light Ministry Team through creative classes, Bible studies, cooking classes in our full kitchen , and more.
