There is never a time that the Lord gives me a little blessing that I am not head over heels once again. I was admiring this sweet little yellow flower. It was actually hard to see. Honestly, it seemed so alone… I looked around thinking surely there were others, but there was not..just this itty bitty little yellow beauty standing in the midst of a lush green meadow. So I snapped a picture in case I ever needed such a shot.
Today I ran across it after forgetting all about it. As I gazed upon it again, the Lord began giving me such a sweet poem. I was trying to decide whether to cry or laugh:) He is such a gentle Father. This is for all the “little flowers” out there….don’t worry He will complete the work in you that He promised…
The Little Flower
I am more than a little flower
My Father tends to me.
Daily pouring out His rain
One day you shall see.
I may seem small in this thickened grass
But Father tells me plans.
He gave me a very special gift
To bless the hearts of men.
Father says He hand picked me
My color is no mistake
For He thought well at what I’d need
From many brilliant shades.
The soil He packed around my roots
That I may grow up strong
He’s teaching me to stand up tall
When danger comes along.
The wind at times scares me so
But Father holds me firm.
He says it helps me learn to trust
When storms twist and turn.
Sometimes I worry if something big
Will step on top of me
But Father says “oh little one”
Each petal I do see.
When I am cold He sends me sun
I love it’s warmth and rays
And in the night He sends a breeze
To rest on cool green blades.
If sometimes I do feel alone
My Father sends some dew
Reminding me He’s still there
Tending to my blooms.

For I am confident of this very thing, that He who began a good work in you will perfect it until the day of Christ Jesus.
