You will have moments where your heart tries to quit on you. When you’ll crawl into a dark place and plead with Jesus for help. It will likely be only with groans because words seem to fail in these moments. You’ll scream in anger at the injustice of life. The sin of humanity. Paramount losses. A heart so broken you can barely breathe.
You’ll ask the “Why’s” and demand answers before you’ll move on with Jesus. For a season you may willingly lay down your mantle, as it will even be hard to look at it for some.
Grief does this.
I know.
However, mercies are new every morning and a morning will arise whereby a sudden and otherworldly wind begins to blow. It gently picks you up and sets your feet back on solid ground. You’ll be skittishly surprised, and maybe even afraid.
Trust His embrace. It’s strong. It’s sure. It’s faithful. It reaches deeper than all of that pain. A new root system has expanded something that’s been undercover. A seed from Heaven that’s waited since your birth to be watered.
Whether you walked yourself into this unpleasant place or life just happened, He has gone to work for your good. (Romans 8:28)
Now is the time.
You will breathe again.
You will live again.
You will be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that brings forth its fruit in its season, Whose leaf shall not wither… (Psalm 1-1)
