The Last Hour

Little children, it is the last hour

Where do your affections lie?

Has this dear world captured your heart

More than Jesus Christ?

Abide does He in your heart

Does His Word leave its transforming mark

Is He pleased with your table talk

Or is His Grace placed behind a door locked?

Is your legacy one of His rod?

Is righteousness and holiness taught?

Are you clothed with garments like He

Or do you spiritually wear whatever you please?

He sits in our midst among men

Never alone, we’re a temple for Him

Consider that He listens in

Would shame come if we could see Him?

At some point He must become real

As if He were before you surreal

In the flesh He did walk in the wind

Yet now His Spirit resides within.

In what fashion does He hold your gaze

Does He see you in adulterated ways

Bowing to idols you’ve made

Resisting His commandments today?

His sacrifice, yes, it was free

And grace and mercy is offered thee

Yet if Christ does truly live in you seen

Then Grace will tell sin now to leave.

Does Truth now abide in your skin

Or does Satan seem to be now akin

Has your heart been given over to him

Return to The Christ once again.
