I was thinking yesterday of the kindness of the Lord. As we’ve been adjusting our rooms at the ministry per His leading, we had some needs to finish the “setting” of all that is coming.
I went to my favorite consignment store (Rega of Paris) and said, “Lord, if I’m in your will the piece I saw them post on Facebook for $75 will be down to $50, and I’ll get it.
Please understand I am very frugal with ministry money. We are fed by His kind hand on a regular basis through sweet donations as He leads others. You may not know this, but we have no paid staff. This includes me. The Lord called me long ago to a life of faith and service in unusual ways. Every donation goes back into our ministry tools and needs. So, I’ve learned to pray before spending.
As I walked into the store, I couldn’t find the piece I was looking for, and I thought, well, it must have sold already.
The gentleman working there asked if I had a picture, which I did.
They found it tucked in where I had missed it and miracle of all miracles it was marked down to $35 dollars.
It’s so interesting, God’s ways. We furnished the entire girl’s room the same way, from the same store, within 30 minutes a few months ago. I had gone to minister out of town at a church which blessed us with a sweet love offering that paid fully for every single piece.
I decided to share with Rega of Paris how God had used their store to fill our ministry building with furniture and things we could have never afforded. Then I find out that the owner has a God story all her own of how He gave her this business… (I plan on finding this story out soon!)
Look at Jesus meeting many needs through one beautiful story.
I headed to another store for ministry supplies, and the clerk was sharing with me beautiful success stories about her son. I was able to share how God has a plan for every life.
“It was a good day, Lord,” I whispered.
I’ve been overwhelmed ever since at how God can make you feel like His favorite, even when you know He has no favorites.
The kindness of the Lord…
Worthy of rejoicing over.
