Some of us are afraid to cry out to God. To tell Him how we really feel.
About life. About pain. About delays. About shame. About regrets. About loneliness. About unforgiveness. About bitterness. About anger. About pride. About envy. About sadness.
About any need really.
We seem to think He expects a stellar performance from us and that perhaps we should just suck it up buttercup and put on that mask we swore we’d never wear again.
The mask that carries unrealistic expectations of perfection. Insecurities covered up but seen by God. A quiet mirage of “I’m handling it well” when the truth is we’re sinking into some deep quicksand.
Why not cry out to God?
Why the stoic positioning before the one who adores you and desires to hear fully every inner groaning within you.
What flips the switch to see Him as the hard taskmaster we just hide from?
This is a distorted view of the Father and He wants to correct it.
He is the God who answers an honest cry.
An honest cry to be delivered of sin bents.
An honest cry needing help with a broken heart.
An honest cry of pain that torments.
An honest cry of our need for Him to intervene.
An honest cry that there is no more we can do but CRY…
Cry out that we might be cooling it off with Jesus.
Cry out that the wounds of the past haunt you at night.
Cry out of that the many needs you never had that you grieve.
Cry out that you aren’t satisfied with what you know about Him.
Cry out that you want to go deeper.
Cry out that you want Him to use you more.
Cry out that you need healing.
Cry out that you need deliverance.
Hear me.
There is an ear right now included to hear your cry tonight. The honest cry not the positioned heart in pretense.
Some things need to be said in the safety of His arms.
Why do we continue to withhold from Him all of us while building a wall that keeps Him out of certain places in our hearts.
It’s in that place where His dear finger wants to point tonight.
Your healing depends on it.
Your destiny depends on it.
Your life and legacy depend on it.

Psa 17:1 – A prayer of David.
O LORD, hear my plea for justice.
Listen to my cry for help.
Pay attention to my prayer,
for it comes from honest lips.
