When Jesus moves you on there are usually mixed emotions.
There can be excitement in the NEW while still having a grief in the move.
As followers, we gain very often by losing and leaving. Losing familiar faces, leaving familiar spaces, and having to release to God all that feels like loss while simultaneously embracing the new gain.
The NEW requires a loss of what was. It requires a faith for the unfamiliar. It leans heavy into the blessing of the NEW while letting go of the OLD.
You’ll likely lose some people while headed into the NEW. Not everyone will go with you into a new territory.
The narrow road seems to get narrower the deeper in Christ you go.
In some cases you’ll be required to trek the new land alone, completely reliant on Jesus. Be sure not to add a thing if Jesus is in the middle of subtracting. His math doesn’t usually look like ours.
Getting in His way is the worst idea so learn to be still and wait on His next move.
We must lose our lives to find our lives in Christ. It’s a constant forward motion. A journey of trust and perseverance. A journey of learning to hear Him more clearly and to be led firmly by His hand.
As you open up your hands and let go of the old, your hands will now be ready to be filled with the NEW.
Grief is ok as long as it doesn’t become the steering wheel making your decisions.
Only Jesus can do that.
