The Doors

Be careful of the open doors

And what does lie behind

For many doors are God ordained

But some are just disguised.

The devil knows just how to work

To set a snare and trap

And if you do not discern well

You’ll end up off the map.

The enemy’s doors they open wide

Distracting from Gods call

Nehemiah did teach us well

“Do not come off the wall.”

It could take days or maybe years

To restore a destined road

You may one day wake from sleep

To find a laughing foe.

The open door you chose to take

Destroyed a mighty throng

For Christ He did not make that door

You’ll weep and wail the wrong.

Be patient! Wait, for God’s dear nod

To know His heart for you

For He will whisper from behind

“This door, dear one, go through.”

He opens what no man can shut

His power and majesty reign

So do not use your strength my friend

To push and push door frames.

For when it’s God there is a mark

Of supernatural design

And in His heart is always near

The reaching of a suffering mankind.
