It was a beautiful day for a walk today and as I rounded the bend I heard the Lord begin to speak to me. I sat down in the middle of our sweet cemetery to focus..and soon He sent a man in need of love and prayer…I wept for some time at His goodness. He surely knows how to find us when He has an assignment. Shortly, He finished this poem. I can’t tell you I had any reason for this one other than the Lord simply decided to write what was on His heart.
“The Daughters”
There is a captivity that’s gone unseen
It’s reigned for centuries
For Jesus saw it well
As women were hidden with veils.
Yet journeying on one day
He purposed a Samaritan’s way
Freeing a woman then bound
To become the next trumpet sound.
Unable to be taught and learn
Segregated by actions and words
Kept low in a cast seen today
Where daughters are abused and dismayed.
A culture and climate still broods
And if we are not careful He looms
For precious are His sacred jewels
And He has now come to loose.
The Deborah’s will now arise
And judge what is right in His sight
For evil permitted to roam
Has stirred up anger from the throne.
Priscilla!!! Stand to your feet!
The Church is in lack indeed
Minister to hearts as He leads
Open your homes now to meet.
My dear, Lydia, whose business affairs
Opens sweet hearts in despair
Clothe them with robes of royal hues
Using the gift I gave you.
In a time where silence is wrought
Esther you now have been called
Silence is no more allowed
Restoring your voice I am now.
Worshippers summoned from High
Mary led the way as she cried
Letting go of all forms of pride
Ridiculed by those still blind.
Set yourself at My feet
Pour out your oil upon Me
A fragrance will rise so sweet
From those with broken dreams.
The streets full of imprisoned cries
My Rahab’s I’m calling you nigh
Use your past to help dry
The tears of the lambs that cry.
A call for JUSTICE is heard
The Heaven’s fulfill now this Word
So Abigail with courage and grace
Confront the “truth” that has strayed.
Loyalty for each must unite
Secure the brethren in Christ
Refuse to leave one another’s side
In this now My Ruth’s must arise..
