When I think of Paul I see a long stint that tucked him away from much into the very heart of Christ so that he could birth writings that would leave a lasting legacy for many.
When I study the psalmist, and warrior, David, I see so much heartache and aloneness in his writings as well. The heart wrenched and imprisoned soul draws deeply from God’s glory to pen intimate details from His heart.
Tis’ not the mountains that train thee well
But inner valleys where ships do sail
To farther lands of treasured finds
Where one is nearer the heart of Christ.
No bump in the road has ever caught the Master off guard. For it was always foreseen and worked into the equation of good working for us.
I must believe that there is a nugget buried for me to find in His heart in such a season. He seems to believe it is a necessary step in my faith walk with Him. Thus, ultimately, I bend my knee to His sovereign hand like the good soldier before his King.
Great is thy faith when waves do roll
When storms blow in with covered snow
When all seems lost to one’s dear heart
Rest every need upon The Rock.
His love will carry you through the most tumultuous times. For some, the lessons of the stormy seasons will find their way to the hearts of others in need by way of pen and paper.
And soon found taking your breath away is that precious buried nugget seen only in the glimpse of hope caught by another sojourner walking with Jesus.
