And to Jesus the mediator (a go-between) of the new covenant, and to the blood of sprinkling, that speaketh better things than that of Abel. Hebrews 12:24
As I grieve, often, every heart sin I acknowledge before the Lord, He lovingly can be seen sprinkling again the blood. It is a precious reminder that His blood covers and His mercy reigns.
It is also a beautiful thing to know the blood speaks on my behalf.
Over and over we must sit under His fountain and let ourselves be washed as the world creeps in. It’s not that the blood has to be re-applied but I often need to remind myself, and my enemy, of the sprinkling of the blood.
Powerful imagery. Yet, a literal reality.
When condemnation comes because I missed a word and didn’t hear correctly, His heart comes to me and reminds me to remind the accuser of the sprinkling of blood.
When I fail at obeying swiftly, I lift my hands under that great blood sprinkler once again calling for the blood of Christ to speak on my behalf. In this moment, the enemy drops his head in defeat.
I am grateful for the blood of Jesus. It covers and yet continues to sanctify us day by day.
Some days I need a waterfall that reminds me of His finished work so that, by faith, I can begin again.
Do not let the enemy convince you that he can carry you off task, win victory with his tactics, or keep you bound. I’ve begun my own taunting of the enemy that I am certain he resents. When he decides to come with all of his accusations, you might catch me on a walk whereby I have my hands slightly above my heart with my fingers sprinkling something unseen.
Don’t worry about me please; it’s me and Jesus reminding the enemy of the sprinkling of Christ’s blood without ever having to say a wordJ
By faith Abel offered unto God a more excellent sacrifice than Cain, by which he obtained witness that he was righteous, God testifying of his gifts: and by it he being dead yet speaketh. Hebrews 11:4
Elect according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, through sanctification of the Spirit, unto obedience and sprinkling of the blood of Jesus Christ: Grace unto you, and peace, be multiplied. 1 Peter 1:2
