There is tension in the atmosphere as you step into that new thing. The war can be felt, and often it feels as if your body has been beaten after a grand victory. The pushback of Hell as you move into the new territory is tangible, and the devil is hoping it will be too much for you to stay the course.
Tension: (Take a look at this)
Definitions: (Webster’s Dictionary)
: a state of latent hostility or opposition between individuals or groups
: a balance maintained in an artistic work between opposing forces or elements
: the act or action of stretching or the condition or degree of being stretched to stiffness.
: either of two balancing forces causing or tending to cause extension
: the stress resulting from the elongation of an elastic body
: a device to produce a desired tension (as in a loom)
Whew, now do you get it?
Anybody feeling “stretched?” Anybody feeling the “tension between two forces?” How about “the stress from elongation?”
Listen. This tension is good, believe it or not. God is taking you into a higher place but the enemy doesn’t give a new land over easily. Promise lands come with their own set of giants and squatters. Just like in the scripture, you had better prepare for the tension that rises when you step into a land the enemy doesn’t want to hand over.
You had better understand that your first job will be to serve a few eviction notices. So don’t think for one minute that you’re gonna sail in for some recreational vacation here. That promise will come with new tensions, and you’ll feel like the stretching is gonna pull you entirely apart.
Hold the line.
The mark of a good soldier is one who can consistently hold the line and take the fire. Yet, still advance.
Do not misunderstand the tension as opposition from God or that you made a wrong move, instead, know that it is a sure sign that you’ve arrived to a place the LORD is preparing for a grand victory.
You’ll be tempted to run away from it.
I’m here to tell you to RUN TO IT.
