Laughter is good
But so are tears
Do not cover thy pain and thy fears.
CHRIST is the rock who sets thee firm
Give ALL thy valleys and struggles.. not SOME.
Give Him all that pierces and shakes
Pour out thy anguish, lament in His grace.
“Joy” can be false and masquerade
That which He desires erased.
Strength in ourselves will hinder Thy work
Laugh if you will but tears make us “tough.”
Warriors we are and battle prepared
But not from the mountains but valleys despaired.
He has a place of anointing so deep
From broken, hurting hearts, grace seeps
If never a valley has ever been seen
Little we have to share with His sheep.
Laughter will come and turn to “true” joy
As you bear all and pride is destroyed.
None in Thy Word spent much time on high
Low, very low, they followed The Christ.
A man of deep sorrows for a people seemed deaf
Fasting and praying yet worldly instead.
Hearts so merry that keep Him at bay
Will become hard, not gentle His way.
Yes laughter is good and smiles keep it light
But do the deep work of tears with Christ.
For as you travail in anguish of need
The voice of the desperate turn His eyes to thee.
