Let them see the tears that fall
For then, they see permissions call
To grieve in their own unique way
Your tears are footprints for some today.
Perhaps they fall in stair-stepped paths
To lead the way through sorrow’s map
And they’ll have courage when they see
Tears that hold sweet melodies.
For if the Christ whose power flows
Wept for man in sin-stained clothes
Who also wept for one He loved
Do you remember ole’ Lazarus?
Then let the tears fall as they may
For each attracts His loving gaze
And never would He put to shame
A heart He loves with tears like rain.
