Storms come and go-and can be fierce. They come in many forms. Each one brings an opportunity for growth. All carry lessons and can take us to a new place with Christ Jesus.
Through a long season of an undiagnosed illness, I learned to war with the Word. During this time after visitations from dark principalities, I learned how to stand on the Word and resist the devil.
Through a season of deep despair and unexpected loss, I learned intricate details regarding grief. While loss came, so did the Promise. I was baptized in the Holy Spirit and learned first-hand the manifestation of the Spirit through His lovely gifts.
Every storm has carried me higher (or deeper) you see. Each has opened the eyes of my heart and taught me spiritual truths that I would have missed by my studying only. We need divine revelation, you see, otherwise, we have ears that don’t hear and eyes that can’t see. We can, often, be people that keep studying yet never learning.
Storms may bring devastation at times-and they have for me too- but they also have uncovered Satan at work when otherwise I would have not seen it. When a storm brews, you’ll see some things rise from the pressure that you didn’t know were there-but He sure did. He used that storm for good to uncover that which was not really what you may have expected.
There have been many times the Lord allowed a moment of conflict to rise so He could show me what was hidden underneath. Those are some of the hardest to swallow but in the long run, He was merely defending His child from future misalignments and unnecessary pain.
Storms.
Nobody likes them. Nobody wants them. Nobody asks for them.
But-my first real storm carried me into the arms of Christ where I found an endless love, a safe place to run, and a purpose worth living, and dying, for.
So whatever storm might be around the bend as we press on, know, that Jesus will use it to push you higher.
Fear not, for I am with you;
Be not dismayed, for I am your God.
I will strengthen you,
Yes, I will help you,
I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.’ Isaiah 41:10
