There are many things Christ died to give us…much of the blessings and gifts He desires us to ask for. Paul says we should earnestly seek the greater gifts. Yet, I find many seem very comfortable and satisfied with their relationship with Christ. It’s as if what they knew about Christ upon salvation is all they ever learned. Yes He does fully satisfy but simply put …we need to be a people who hunger and thirst after Him. We should always be seeking to know Him more fully. I never desire to be tomorrow where I am today…what a tragedy to only receive His forgiveness…yet never receive His victory..Life with Jesus is a journey from glory to glory. Those who are fully satisfied where they are…will stay where they are. Let it not be so. Let us dive in deep with Him…allowing Him to teach us more, love us more, and equip us more with His power. Let’s be a people desiring not just “some” but “more.”
“Some”
If all you want is “some”
Then “some” is what you’ll have
But “some” won’t be enough
As judgement waves His hand.
There is a place of “rest”
That’s false and leads to death
A place of sneaky peace
With hidden unbelief.
This place of rest where” some”
Has satisfied a soul
Where “more” would be too “much”
And strike a fearful cord.
Where stirring is in chains
And waits for faith’s release
But bound by human minds
Where “some” we choose to keep.
What if there is such “more”
Would thou dare to plead
Father to pour down
Who He died to leave?
Oh yes, He is the same
Yesterday…Today
Forever desiring “more”
For people He died to save.
Love Much,
Shelly
