This came out of no where yesterday. I have pondered this word “silence” many times over the past years. It seems Christ is not finished speaking to it.
Silence is why our children can no longer pray in schools..silence is why millions are aborted each year in our country. Silence is why many have reached an eternal destination with fiery flames. Silence is why many have turned for Christ. For we didn’t love enough to share Christ with them. After all “it’s not really our business.” How many times have I heard this? Friends, this is not the heart of our Savior…but the heart of the evil one.
Satan has used much of the Word with an unrighteous twist…a secret deception. In the name of Jesus we are told to “tolerate.” Don’t get me wrong…we always LOVE..but be very careful of this word, “tolerate.” For I can “tolerate” something without agreeing with it. Yet, society is redefining this word and forcing tolerance as agreement. If you do not agree with something you are scolded as not being tolerant. See my point? Oh what a tangled web we weave. Yet, the love Christ talks about and exhibited never allowed one to go down a wrong path without nudging them back to the way of Jesus. Love always judged the brethren…not the unbeliever. Many times I have heard “don’t judge lest you be judged…” yet actually the WORD calls us to hold each other accountable. It is our responsibility. Do we allow our children to do that which harms them? Do we sit back idly and allow one to harm themselves? Well…honestly maybe we do… far too often.
Silence can be deafening to a hurting heart and can send one into a deep despair. Hearts are fragile and need much tending by one another. Christ takes no heart lightly and sees no pain as insignificant…yet somehow we, His followers, seem to do this all too often. In this area is much need for repentance. This is a “little fox” in our walk with Christ. I have had several visit with me lately about silence. In their deepest need…there was silence. No voice of hope, no call on their phones, no knocks on their doors…so they sunk into a dark place where the enemy had his way with them.
If you know someone walking a path of harm…break the silence. If you know someone in depression..break the silence. Even when they declare there is no need…break the silence. Love them to truth and love them to life. It is the way of Christ…ask the Lord to bring anyone to mind as you sit with Him. Ask Him if there is a need for repentance in your own heart. Time is short…Jesus is coming…and remember, silence can be good but it can also be bad. Discern the timing of it always. Satan does his greatest works in darkness.
Silence..
Silence they say is “golden”
Yet only in appointed times
Other times it ushers in
Deception and hidden lies.
If ordained by merciful God
Then silence could be a tool or rod
Break it you must for Father to trust
When waters rise corrupting like dust.
Picking one’s battles will silence bring
As long as it doesn’t cause serious woundings
Silence like Christ was poised as a lamb
Headed for slaughter .. with shears in man’s hand.
Silence it never kept one from doing good
Healed on the Sabbath He did as He should.
Sitting as mute when others did scoff
Beaten, scorged, spat on, and mocked.
Arise, yes He did, to fight for the truth
Silent He wasn’t for me and you
Chose it He did to yield divine plan
But never when pursuing the heart of a man.
Yes, Silence they say is “golden”
Yet only in appointed times
Other times it ushers in
Deception and hidden lies.
