I’ve alluded to this often. Christ is a master season shifter. It is not uncommon for Him to take a person and move them into a season that is different than they are possibly use to. This is part of our growing process. However, it can be confusing and very uncomfortable at times.
A sweet friend reminded me today to surrender to that which is being called forward in this season. His way or no way. That’s the decision. It is a constant letting go of “what was” to embrace “what is.”
I’ve lived this so often. I’ve written on it probably more than I would like to but, nonetheless, some of you will need to get use to shifting seasons. You may be “feeling” it now.
You’ll have to drop the comparisons because your walk will not be like others. Some are called to stay put for extended periods of time while others are directed to shift frequently.
I think in our culture we mingle secular ideas with Kingdom ones and we get this assumption that we will serve in a specific role for the majority of our earthly stay. Not always the case, friends.
It makes me chuckle.
The life with Jesus is very often “Go here,” and then “Go there.” You’ll find it was true also for the disciples in the Bible. But be careful not to create some cookie cutter formula out of this. I said, “Some,” not “all.”
It will likely depend on your calling and how, exactly, God uses you in His body.
I am also not meaning it to always be a shift of location. Sometimes it’s merely a shift of focus. His heart becomes set on a thing because it’s the appointed time for it. Our job is to stay in prayer and discern the shift of His heart. Then we align with His desire. It is not the other way around.
At times, it may even feel like a “suddenly.” You, perhaps, were not expecting it but a dream reveals a new thing on the horizon. Your Spirit begins to get restless. He is preparing you for the shift. Press into prayer in the secret place. It may be a shifting season.
He, too, may be calling forward a gift that has been hidden to you until now.
Remember, He knows what He placed in you and who you are to become even when you do not. There is a beautiful thing that happens in such a place. You begin to learn what it’s like to keep in step with the Spirit. He moves, you move. He can call for something in you that you never knew was there. A supernatural stirring of some hidden “tool” meant to edify the Kingdom.
Don’t miss out on this kind of shifting season out of fear or misplaced loyalty to people, places, or things. There is only one LORD. It is Him you serve.
If this resonates with your Spirit, go with Jesus. Adventures await and so do hearts on the other side of your shift.
