After my morning Bible reading, the words, “Robbing God” crept up into my Spirit. I had to ponder for a bit what He might be saying specifically.
I suppose there are many ways of robbing God.
For the surrendered life has made a vow of devotion that perhaps is taken entirely too lightly.
Full surrender means He is in charge of your schedule and appointments. He is LORD over your finances. He is the Master who dictates your daily life and ministry endeavors.
Is this true for you and me?
He owns our material possessions, our time on earth, our finances, and our plans. All things are simply on loan and to be used for His purposes.
It seems we have it often backward, whereby we make a plan and ask God to go with us rather than us going with God. Thus we rob God of what He wants to do and prefer our plans over His.
If I withhold selfishly any of these things that are quite honestly His anyway, I am robbing God.
I am robbing Him of His desires, His Kingdom advancement, and Heaven’s own resources.
God uses people. It was and is His plan. Through mankind is the body of Christ following the Headship of Jesus to accomplish His will.
When we go on our own and leave Kingdom things unattended, uncared for, and time wasted on worldly cares, then we have robbed God.
Yikes!
That might put a healthy fear of the Lord in our hearts this morning.
It is a good idea for us to ponder with Christ if there are any areas we are robbing Him and His Kingdom work.
If we see the slightest hint in our lives, let’s readjust. It might be why we have stalled out in some personal areas. He is waiting for us to correct our behavior and give Him what was His to begin with.
If anything at all might cause us to tremble, it might be the possibility that we have somewhere somehow robbed The Almighty.
May we be found trustworthy with Kingdom valuables.
