There have been times when God gave a sudden redirection. When it happens, it can be a little wounding.
Maybe you’ve experienced the same.
It feels like your heart just got tagged with the piercing of an unsuspecting arrow, and you’re a little caught off guard.
I wonder if Paul felt it when the Holy Ghost shut tight a door he was trying to walk through on his journey.
What you thought was coming will not, and He gives you a divine redirection.
When these have come to me, it’s often been a non-negotiable.
Corrections must be made, and I must quickly get back into my assigned lane.
It’s like the Shepherd took His hook and snagged me from one direction to another.
And “that was that.”
A hard, “No” occurs, and you’re left a little confused.
It’s the moment the inner tantrum starts, and you have a little trouble voicing the hurt to Jesus. He seems to give immeasurable grace while you sort out the emotions knowing you’ll need a minute to recover.
You almost avoid the prayer closet for a bit because you’re quite unsure what to say, but you know He is kindly waiting for your coming, nonetheless.
When you finally do, and even before, you know He is for you and not against you.
He simply needs you focused on the mission you were made for, so He removes all that needs to be removed.
The truth is that you knew for some time you were overextended and pushing every boundary. Your body was giving out and your mind too tired to think.
He knew too…and because you couldn’t make the move, He did.
