Rain

Some rain comes heavy
And some rain comes light
Some rain falls at day time
And some rain falls at night
Some rain is quite painful
Some rain is pure joy
Some comes with a bit of thunder
Some barely makes a noise.

Some rain is expected
Some an unwanted surprise
Some rain comes with darkness
Some even as the sun shines.
Some rain leaves a rainbow
Some leaves mere demise
Some brings a calming
Some simply terrifies.

We don’t choose the kind of rain that comes

How hard it falls or when it’s all done

Sometimes we can’t even see the outcome

Until it’s passed and the clouds have been rung.

And if the rain comes in the form of pain

Breaking your heart or bringing some shame

Know that your Father still knows your name

Trust Him for harvest that grew from the rain.
