Others mocking said, “They are full of new wine.” Acts 2:13
I’ve watched many a preacher skirt around the dynamics of Pentecost and quickly dismiss for today that gift given for the church of Christ.
It is a sad affair to watch many deny the power of God in our modern society while presenting a form of religion that offers little life.
Acts 2:13 gives us a glimpse into the heart of those not understanding what was happening at Pentecost. How quickly we run to judge what is or is not of God.
The same mocking happens today yet is wrapped in a pious and lofty sort of “correction of theology,” “false theology, “a calling out of “false fire,” etc.
Many like to think praying in tongues is not an essential part of the baptism of the Holy Ghost, but a quick reading of scripture will show us differently. Yet, a delusion insists that one doesn’t need the gift or that it is entirely of the old age.
Rubbish.
I learned quickly in healing and deliverance the need for other tongues. As I would begin to pray in tongues, I would receive a unique word of knowledge to help me pray for a soul in need. Soon as God would baptize in the Spirit women we serve, they, too, would begin to partner with Heaven to help pray hearts to wholeness.
The first step to receiving this gift of God is acknowledging it is available and necessary to you. It is a gift from God that He loves to give to a hungry heart.
So often you’ll find a skipping over such truths simply because one has not yet understood or experienced it, but do not for one second let someone convince you that the Holy Spirit is not still doing this beautiful and powerful work today in His people.
Mockers seem to be within the “church” these days but one day God, Himself, will put things right, and I’d sure be cautious of coming against the Holy Ghost. He is as fully God as God the Father or God the Son.
Move past the natural things and into the Spirit. That place is where you will see wonders.
Get someplace rooted in biblical truth that includes the supernatural life in Christ, and “pursue earnestly (eagerly) spiritual gifts.” (1 Corinthians 14:1)
