For a few months, I have seemed to be “nesting.” I have kept telling the ladies I felt a shift coming. After a significant amount of pressure, we saw the shifts and made them quickly. Yet, this morning, the Lord lets me know He is not quite done yet.
The last few days, I have kept hearing “Make room” in my Spirit. As another confirmation, the same word came forward in worship rehearsal a week ago. I’ve been sitting with this simmering and asking God for wisdom to shift on time and according to His will.
I’m reminded of the scripture in Isaiah 54:2,
“Enlarge the site of your tent, stretch out the curtains of your dwellings, do not hold back. Lengthen your ropes and drive your stakes in deep.”
The Lord has been positioning my heart on the areas of ministry that need to be added, those that need to be released, and those which need subtle shifting to accommodate the “new” Holy Spirit is bringing in. So, in essence, He has instructed me to “Make room.”
When it comes to the things of God, there will often be a need to make room. Sometimes it will be a literal making room by knocking out walls or building on new additions. At other times it will be in creative scheduling, new hearts and hands on deck, and by removing anything not bearing fruit any longer.
His presence will always be clear, and He provides numerous circumstances to confirm much-needed changes and shifts in order to fulfill His desires. My job is merely to obey His instructions.
If we do not make room when He instructs us to then we might surely halt forward progress, stunt our own growth, and find ourselves in a delayed obedience mindset which is merely disobedience at the root.
So today I prepare to make room. Will you? In order to go deeper, you’ll have to make room to do so.
