I am still learning how to look and listen for the wind in my rooms. How to breathe slower and allow space for the Holy Spirit to go where He wants to go.
If I’m not careful I could miss Him.
It means I hold all of my objectives loosely. I release the reins of what I expect in an evening and I pay close attention to my environment.
I may see Him moving on a heart by observing a shift in their stance. I might notice the swallowing of silent tears. I may see pain begin to show itself. That’s my cue to slow down, take a mental note, and be ready.
Observing the room I’ve learned is so important otherwise we get some things done without ever tending the heart needs and this is the deeper and more critical work of Jesus.
He points out where He is trying to go. It may not be where I intended to go, but it is where He needs to go.
He comes to bind the broken-hearted not to ignore them.
I’ve seen many a room full of knowledge with no heart tending. So many leave as empty as they came in, feeling as unseen as ever, and wondering if life can ever be different.
Study is good but there must be a transformation of the heart. Often people can’t hear the lessons of the study because they are covered up with pain.
Remember, Jesus sees to the heart and so should we.
In order to see what we need to see we must learn to look and listen for the wind and then move accordingly.
It boils down to this:
Did I fulfill my objectives or His?
Learn to look and listen because the wind blows where it wishes…(John 3:8)
