Let us reason…
We are to be a people of truth, righteousness, holiness. In my own self I see some of my past beliefs as blunders of errors due to theologies driven by mankind, rather than the Lord Jesus. We have a way of interpreting scriptures based on our human teachers rather than the teaching of the Holy Spirit. Yet, I admit only He can reveal errors to our hearts. Certainly, when we are willing to hear, He is willing to speak.
Yet who will hear if there is no preacher…
With that being said, know there is mercy and grace of heart behind every word written here. But I cannot remove the urgency of heart also written here.
I find our biblical justice is haphazard.
We shun the abused and harbor the abuser for the “sake of the church.”
We counsel women to stay in abuse “to win their husbands to Christ.”
We oppress women in the body “for the sake of biblical truth.”
And we shame people who leave a local church when they are wounded or spiritually bullied. We tell them “as long as people are in the church there will be misunderstandings.” We let them know how “Jesus came to church wounded, so can you.”
Yet none of these cliches match accurate and righteous biblical justice taught by Christ and His disciples.
I could expand on each statement above and ask that you comb the hidden areas of your heart to see if there is any indictment outstanding within your own actions. The same goes for me.
We are actually doing the same thing the world is doing. Calling right wrong and wrong right. We are even abusing people with the Word of God. Honestly, there is nothing worse.
There must come a point where repentance is required rather than excused.
We have it wrong friends. It is not the heart of Christ to allow sin to reign. It must always be confronted.
We love to call out false prophets and teachers but if the Holy Spirit enters your body of believers, your leadership teams, and elder bodies would you be named as guilty?
It’s worthy of pondering.
Abuses must cease and victims protected regardless of the type of abuse- or the environment in which it is perpetrated. Whether Home or Church there are no “get out of jail free” cards.
Bury the cliches. They are undermining Christ and His teachings.
You, and I, are called to stand against injustices. Silence will never do.
He is a righteous judge….
