1 Samuel 30:11–13- Then they found an Egyptian in the field, and brought him to David; and they gave him bread and he ate, and they let him drink water. And they gave him a piece of cake of figs and two clusters of raisins. So when he had eaten, his strength came back to him; for he had eaten no bread nor drunk water for three days and three nights. Have you ever been left behind in a season where you were in greatest need? Those you fought with daily and called comrades were suddenly gone and you were left to fend for yourself?
You felt devalued, unworthy, and no longer welcome at the table of those you had admired for so long?
There is one that promises to never leave us or forsake us. His name is Jesus.
He knows your pain… exactly. For when He was arrested and on His way to the cross to be put to death, all of the disciples scattered.
The very ones He had walked with daily, taught faithfully, loved fully.
Left Him.
Mark 14:15 “Then all of Jesus’s disciples left him and fled.”
We find a similar statement coming from Paul’s letter to Timothy.
2 Timothy 1:13 “You know that everyone in the Province of Asia has deserted me, including Phygelus and Hermogenes.”
You see, Jesus knows intimately your grief and pain. He knows you feel abandoned. But He is right there with you in the pain. All you have to do is lean into Him, call out His name…He comes running quickly.
Reach out to a him today and let Him heal your heart.
