And when he (Christ) had fasted forty days and forty nights, he was afterward hungry. And when the tempter came to him… Matthew 4:2-3
We would like to believe that the enemy would give us a little break when we are already at our lowest. Not so. Jesus was by then tired and weak from hunger in that wilderness.
Please understand the enemy does his best work while you are in your deepest valley. He is a master at kicking you when you’re down. Temptation will be at its worst when you are in your greatest need.
There have been seasons where I could barely breathe when another sudden wave of calamity, or pain, occurred.
However, the enemy trembles when a child of God keeps getting back up.
Jesus withstood all of the enemy’s tactics. That ole’ devil even tried to twist the scripture thinking Christ and His weariness would miss such a subtle deception.
Listen, you better know the heart of God before the devil starts using the Word against you. He has done it for centuries and has birthed many false teachings and erroneous doctrines because of it.
Feed yourself daily the deep truths of the Word. Stay in His presence seeking His face in prayer.
Never underestimate the enemy. This is war. Keep your armor on, your Bible open, and your sword sharp at all times.
