I’ve known you, Lord, to hold my heart as it shattered into a million pieces.
I’ve known you also to hold my hand when the world thought I was nothing but useless.
I’ve known you, Lord, to cup my cheeks and trace my tear stained face.
I’ve known you then to whisper sweet, “Arise, and take your place.”
I’ve known the ONE whose calmed my fears when nothing but darkness ensued.
I’ve known Him to scatter my enemies for God has been my faithful refuge.
I’ve known the meekness of the tender Lamb who was led to death in silent moans.
And I’ve known His power with great restraint that patiently walked me home.
I’ve known His burden for many a heart that’s been beaten, battered and bruised.
And I’ve known His healing, a gentle balm, that binds the seeping wounds.
I’ve known His goodness that makes me dance when sparkling surprises appear.
And I’ve known His nudging me on ahead when it’s time for my faith to be fierce.
I’ve known Him as nothing less than the GREAT I AM, the MASTER, and EL ROI.
And I’ve known Him simply as ABBA FATHER who daily sings me to sleep.
