It’s come to my attention that my praying has become less powerful. One must realize when passivity has arrested the prayer life. Instead of Hell shaking prayer, weary praying begins and the enemy is not near as afraid as He ought to be.
If I should find myself in this kind of shape where my praying has become too pretty then I need a mind and heart shift.
Wave upon wave will wear you down and that is just what the devil is after. A prayer warrior who has backed down.
There must be a righteous anger rise in me to recall that I must ride that devil in prayer until he is defeated in my situations. Many a war is won only in the prayer closet. My righteous acts are good but they do not put fear in the devil like a praying saint does.
Maybe you find yourself weary in the battle and you find yourself losing your footing in prayer?
Let us go again…and again…and again…friends.
Today is a new day and you and I need to battle is out in prayer. Souls are saved, hearts of mended, ministries are birthed, and prodigals returned home…all through prayer.
You can back down from the daily activities albeit good ones. But do not dare back down in prayer. Effective prayer shifts atmospheres, changes hearts, and gets the attention of Heaven. Christ inclines His ear to hear us and a wonder working power is released through prayer.
You can lose the polite little prayers recited to sound pleasant. Bear down and call on Heaven to defend the innocent, expand the Kingdom, and draw men to Himself.
Keep fighting when it gets bloody…when it gets loud…when the tears flow…and when you are almost out of strength…
It is in that moment of weakness we often see the King come riding into a situation and turn the thing around. When we are weak, He is strong.
Gird up. Prepare for battle.
It’s time to pray…
