I had a dream last night where I leaned into some hearts with one loving but piercing comment, “You need to decide if you’re really serious about ministry.”
There is a plausible belief that the Holy Ghost oversees our ministries and will lead and guide us. I am a full believer in this as well. He has been my promoter, my publicist, and my helper in every way.
Yet, I’ve learned also of a measure of work required to cause something He calls you to do to birth and thrive.
If you and I leave work undone, He will not be able to birth in us what He desires. We can blame His lack of movement on our fruitlessness, or we can come to grips with our lack of effort in partnering with Him.
For example, Noah had to do the work of building the ark. God could have spoken it into existence, but He did not. He required a man to obey and do the work.
Nehemiah was the same. He had to gather workers, gather materials, position leaders, write letters for approval, and lead effectively teams in the building of the walls.
Honestly, many dreams are being abandoned because we are unwilling to do the work required. We want the easy road with no obligations or commitments.
That’s fine. However, you’ll get what you’ve given.
When we take an inventory of what we do daily, weekly, or monthly- well then, we will find our treasure. We give time and attention to what is important to us.
I lovingly tell you that I believe Jesus and the dream He gave me last night is pointing to a great separation. He has been searching hearts that have the faith and passion to obey what He has called into being. Who will prioritize His desires?
To those who have multiplied, His talents are now being offered, that which was given to the man who buried his. He played it safe and gave as little as possible. Now he shall reap what he has sowed. It really is a sad turn of events because it could have been so different.
This is the season of harvest. Some have forfeited their calling and gone with the ways and paths of the world. Other voices have far outweighed the voice of God. In essence, you’ve chosen whom you will serve.
So I say again what was in my last night’s dream:
“You need to decide if you’re really serious about ministry.”
The coming season whereby all of Hell will breach every door possible will require us to be a sold-out people.
Consider this a war cry.
