I Was

As our Book Club has been reading through Hinds Feet in High Places I ran across a phrase that stopped me suddenly. My eyes stayed fixed on it and my Spirit bore witness of the truth of the language.

“I was that woman, but am not that woman now.”

The born again experience many years ago clearly proved this to be true in Christ, yet, even in my current season I can say the same.

“I was…but am not, now.”

Season after season is a revealing and yet an unraveling of who Christ designed us to be. While many of us think towards some final destination, we are still discovering Him daily, but also still discovering ourselves.

The last 6 weeks of stillness bore the same phrase in my heart. You are no longer the same woman as the last season. Move accordingly.

Some of us are here, together.

There are some things that are now part of my, “I was” season.

There is something new that Christ has birthed. More of our authentic selves formed in the womb. We’ve outgrown some things.

You will move different, hear different, operate different, and build different.

I heard faintly something I’ve heard before, “You will go by a way you have not been.”

We can try to figure it out but in stillness, to which I often abhor, comes a brand new season. It’s more than a shift, it’s a mandate to step into all that Christ has called you to.

It’s not just “a season, but THE season.”

You’ll shed another layer of who you thought you were. Take off clothes that no longer fit. And step into lands with a new authority for advancing the Kingdom.

He will pull you into that which He always knew, but you never saw coming.

Some of “that” is taking you back to His original design where you’ve gotten off of your called lane and weariness has devoured your joy and peace.

For some, the enemy came to steal, kill, and destroy the very place God is about to erupt His holy fountain.

You’re on the middle of a DIVINE RESET.

He is placing you back into the flourishing place you were born for.

Moving outside the flow of God in our lives has left many of us exhausted and drained us of strength.

But the anointing that undergirds our mantle and divine moves is flowing freely again as you re-surrender and re-submit to His heart.

You’ll have to lay some good things down so you can pick back up YOUR cross and follow Him.

You’ll grieve what might feel like loss during the transition while you’re also excited about the future.

But watch how Heaven quickly maneuvers as the gates fly open wide because you simply realigned with Christ.

Follow Jesus…

Like me you’ll say even in this season, “I was that woman, but am not that woman now.”
