Help Me to Hear…

Help Me to Hear…

Help Me to Hear…

There is a tangible sound when Christ arrives on the scene. Its often not “sound” as we know it but in the Spirit you know it when it comes. It’s merely Him getting your attention.

He says often in His word… “You have ears but do not hear..”

His coming can be swift like the wind yet soft as a breeze…. whether inside or outside He will call you to an assignment … either simply to come away with Him for a while or go help one in need. He has often captured my eye gaze to a need in the grocery store or a restaurant. All are critical times of hearing …often I have not been ready in season and out of season. I wonder how much of His sweetness we miss daily due to all the noise…may He help us to hear…

“Help Me to Hear”

At times it’s not a “sound”

But a burning inside

When His dear Spirit

Does witness a cry

When He does then send you

On assignment to mend

You now His arrow

Flown by His wind.

Or a subtle eye catching

An echo surreal

An odd bird that’s chirping

The wind suddenly stilled

A message sent quickly

From one whose been gone

Help me to hear Lord

Your creations love song.

It’s a frantic sweet lady

Searching her purse

Holding back tears

And a bag of her stuff.

A downtrodden widow

Lonely from loss

These are the sounds

That come from the cross.

A beckoning “come higher..”

To see what He sees

To Hear what He hears

And weep when He weeps

To take now the courage

To wield authority

These are the sounds

That rise from His seat.

Oh, help me to hear Lord

The unspoken hurts

The wrestling of hearts

Who long to give up

The silent cry whispers

Alone in the night

Caught in the traps

Of greedy men’s sights.

And help me to hear Lord

Your song as it’s sung

Your words as you write

Your heavenly tongue

Your kind, gentle sighing

When I’m in despair

And the sound you give sweetly

As you brush back my hair.

Do help me to hear Lord

The rustling of leaves

Remembering your word

Speaks much of these

And cause me to stare

At the sound of your gaze

Calling me nigh

To rest a few days.

And if I do miss Thee

Please do turnaround

Drowned out the noise

And silence the crowds

Do what you must

To get me to you

And help me to hear

ALL you want me to.
