It is the plight of a Christ-follower to grab the hand of the suffering. Whether orphaned, imprisoned, grieving, or yet battling sin.
We like to talk the talk, but we often drop the ball when it comes to walking the walk.
We allow suffering to get only so close before we go about our daily business. Our mindset is often, “It is not my concern.”
Until the need becomes our own.
Nothing awakens you to the suffering of hearts like a season of personal suffering. You’ll realize quickly how callous your heart really is and how little you like to jump in the mud with others clamoring for freedom.
Which, in all honesty, is what Jesus does.
Most of us love our platforms, but when we step down from them, there is no real caring for people other than ourselves.
We’ve all been there, but at some point, Jesus in us should be moved by compassion. Otherwise, perhaps He is not really in us.
At some point, the Word in us must actually be lived out. Anybody can quote scripture. That’s not all that impressive to Christ. The trick is to do what we read.
God is a God over nations. That is plural. He is not just a God of one place and space. In this, it means every human life is valuable and meant to be offered His grace and love.
We’ve been in an entertainment-driven church for far too long, friends. It is coming down.
Come out of her.
Who is in your midst, needing you to reach for their hand?
Why haven’t you?
Start today with a list of people that the Lord shows you need a touch from Him. Kingdom work, even walking in the Spirit, is quite intentional.
Once He gives you the “WHO” do whatever it takes to get to them even if it means sacrificing your own plans and comfort.
Grab a hand today and watch what Jesus will do with your life and the life you reached out to.
