A reed is easily broken
Shredded by brutal winds
And so it goes the human heart
So tender it is my friends.
It’s made up of years of experience
Some good and some too bad
And if never properly mended
It’s memories will blow like the sand.
Strength does come from the Father
Yet pain is not likely forgone
Few pains barely prick some hearts
While others pierce deep iron rods.
Only Christ knows the record of heartaches
From childhood and years long gone
Never known is the pool of sorrow
That Satan will stir up by wrongs.
Walk lightly with hearts every season
Thinking always to guard from the snares
The hearts that may soon just crater
So fragile ….please handle with care.
