So let’s keep focused on that goal, those of us who want everything God has for us. If any of you have something else in mind, something less than total commitment, God will clear your blurred vision – you’ll see it yet! Now that we’re on the right track, let’s stay on it. (Philippians 3:15-16-MSG)
All manner of good things will come to steal your attention. If the enemy doesn’t entice you in one way, be sure he will try another avenue.
The hour is late friends and assignments must be guarded. There is nothing more important than what God has entrusted to you in the way of hearts.
There will be times you feel you are “missing out” because you must refrain from participating in various activities because it conflicts with your assigned job.
Many rabbit trails will lead you away from that which God has given you to do.
You, and I, must weigh things before the Lord before we give it our, “Yes.” Sometimes it will feel absolutely countercultural to say, “I’m sorry, I can’t.” But Jesus has your heart focused on a certain pasture with certain sheep. All else must take a backseat.
The enemy would love you to lay down God’s priority but you must not. Remember, even Christ stayed focused on what He was called to do in any given moment. So must we be.
Guilt may come and guilt may go
But Christ, the King has paved a road
And if you veer to the right or left
The devil laughs at every step
So keep thine heart focused well
Tend the sheep through Heaven’s mail
And feel not pressed to give a “yes”
To paths that move from Father’s chest.
