It’s evening now and many are getting ready for bed after long days, trials of the heart, and overwhelming circumstances that leave many pained.
But not Jesus.
He never slumbers or sleeps so it is well with my soul to turn all things over to His heart while I rest.
I imagine Him tenderly tucking me in and letting me know He will not dare leave.
While hearts tired from grueling days give in to the darkness of night, Christ is tending the garden.
He is tenderly speaking to every longing heart in unique ways. Some go on grand adventures with Him through dreams while others will be roused awake for overdue talks and still others will gently hear Him singing sweet lullabies from Heaven.
One thing you can be certain of is that He is watching over you…
There is an extra measure of attention given the hurting hearts because He is near to them in a way that is hard to explain. Yet, when you’ve lived it, you know it to be very true.
It is right before my eyes close that I find some of the sweetest moments with Him.
“Can I ask you a question, Lord?” Is often heard by Heaven before I drift off to sleep. He seems to like talking then too and I find I am able to rest better knowing we have talked a few things out that my heart needed to, perhaps, settle.
Sometimes a deep groan comes from my soul as a memory comes to visit. All I ever have to whisper is, “Lord, did you see that go through my heart?”
He lets me know He sure did and comforts me like the kind Father that He is.
It is a wonderful thing to know you’re never alone. To be able to lie down at night and talk with the Creator of the Universe.
It still amazes me that He is so mindful of us sinful humans.
But I sure am glad that He is…
