The race we run with Christ Jesus is not a sprint. You will need a spirit of endurance to finish well.
Heb 10:36 – For you have need of endurance, so that after you have done the will of God, you may receive the promise:
Many start well with glorious zeal and passion, and once the work becomes hard fades slowly away.
What then happens when the trial from Hell comes to halt your forward motion? Is shrinking back way too easy?
I’ve endured seasons of persecution, seasons of sorrow, and even seasons of poor health yet the mandate to follow Christ and complete my assignments was never removed. Thus, I had to learn to endure.
You, and I, will walk seasons of loneliness and isolation when Christ needs us all to Himself. We will have to keep walking when arrows are fired in our own backyards. When lies and slanders are sent to distract you, you will have to endure, knowing Christ is your defender and deliverer. He will rise against it. We wrestle not against flesh and blood.
The body at times might become battle weary. Restore and refill in the Word and prayer closet. Then go back to the Kingdom work.
Any voice trying to talk you into quitting will not be the Lord’s. Know your Shepherds’ voice.
It is always a good habit to lay your heart bare before the Lord and ask for His finger to pinpoint any sin that may cause more hardship for us than is necessary. Not every weight is external. Often, we have sin hindering, and so we may be fighting the conviction of the Holy Ghost. Let’s lay aside every weight.
Heb 12:1 – Therefore we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us,
Friends. I implore you to plow the harvest fields faithfully with a spirit of endurance. Time is short. Tomorrow is not guaranteed.
Let us run with endurance the race set before us.
May the Lord Jesus touch every life reading this with an extra measure of endurance. May each heart be sanctified before the LORD to run well with no self-made hindrances. May your feet work swiftly for the King and Kingdom, and may you be full of passion for His work in this hour.
Perhaps you were born for such a time as this…
